Servicing and maintaining a motorcycle is a popular hobby among enthusiasts, and can save you quite a bit of money in mechanic fees. If you’re interested in taking a more DIY approach to your motorcycle’s repairs, take a look at our guide on buying spare parts. Fluids

While not exactly a spare part, motorcycle fluids are an extremely important part of motorcycle care and upkeep, and we advise keeping an important few within reach at all times. Oil, coolant, and brake fluid are more likely to be used on a regular basis. However, it doesn’t hurt to keep antifreeze, engine flush, and fuel stabilizer on hand as well.

Emergency Parts

If you’re traveling long distances, or even just outside of city limits, we advise having a few emergency parts and tools on hand, in case your vehicle suddenly breaks down. While it’s up to you what goes into this emergency tool box, spare spark plugs, a back-up motorcycle chain, and replacement bulbs for your lights are extremely helpful.

Parts for Your Garage

Unlike the smaller bits and pieces listed above, these parts tend to be much larger, and are best stored away in your garage, such as a set of spare tires. While your motorcycle may have a place to store a spare tire, this isn’t the case with most models, so it’s very helpful to have an extra set at home in case of an emergency. While you’re stocking up, we also advise grabbing an oil filter or two, and a couple of brake pads for the next time you need to replace these important parts.

Repairing and caring for a motorcycle’s many delicate parts isn’t always easy. If you’re located in San Diego or Oceanside, California and struggling with a repair, feel free to get in touch with one of our amazing service centers here at North County Indian Motorcycle®.
